AN INCOMPLETE GOODBYE (Continuation – 2)

The front door was locked. Bella pressed the calling bell button.
“Welcome home, Bell.”-Jesicca opened the door with a cheer and hugged Bella.
“Thank you Jes.”-Bella vaguely remembered seeing Jesicca while she was at the hospital in half consciousness.
Bella noticed Tom arranging the fruit basket with some fruits. He was trying to put on a happy face.
“Hey, welcome Bell. It’s good to see you.”- his voice shaked.
“Thank you Tom. It’s good to see you too.”- Bella tried to keep up the act.

Bella looked around as if she was seeing the place for the first time. She walked into her room. Everything was well arranged and her room seemed perfect.
“Everything okay?”- Jesicca entered into the room.
“Perfect, if you were asking about the room”- Bella smiled.
“Well…How about a tea?”-Jesicca carefully tried to pick up a conversation.
“Jes, It’s okay. You don’t have to act like nothing has happened. And even if you try to continue this act, I don’t feel like pretending.”-Bella sighed.
“A tea would be perfect.”- Jesicca walked out of the room in a rush ,without waiting for an answer.
Bella sighed.

Bella laid down and softly moved her fingers over the bed. And she suddenly noticed the two happy faces in the frame near her bed. She remembered how happy she was when she was with Sam.

“A sweet tea for a perfect welcome party.”- Jesicca joined her after a few minutes.
“Jes, I’m sorry about earlier. I should’nt have overreacted.”- Bella took one of the cups from Jesicca.
“You don’t have to apologize Bell. I get it.”- Jesicca sat near Bella.
“Can I come in? “-Tom knocked on the door.
“Yeah, of course.”- Bella smiled.
“How are you feeling Bell?”- asked Tom.
“I’m fine Tom. Are you guys free tomorrow?”- Bella took a sip of tea.
“Yeah, Any plans?”- Tom was curious.
“To visit Sam. I don’t even know the place where he sleeps. Will you guys be able to take me there tomorrow?”- Bella smiled in pain.
Everyone became silent for a moment.
“Yeah. Sure.”- Tom was trying hard to answer her. Without looking anyone, he walked out of the room.
“I’ll leave you alone for a moment.”- Jesicca raised from the bed.
“No, no. I’m fine Jes. It’s really good to have you both here.”- Bella stopped her.

An year ago. Bella’s 23rd birthday.
“Happy birthday Bella!”-Sam kissed on her forehead.
“Thank you love.”- Bella hugged him.
“Close your eyes.”
“What? Why? “-Bella giggled.
“Come on Bella.”-Sam insisted.
Bella closed her eyes and waited eagerly. Bella felt like someone was holding her both hands. She suddenly opened her eyes.
“Happy birthday Bella!” -Jesicca and Tom was holding each one of her hands.
Bella was surprised to see two new faces.
“Thank you guys.”- Bella tried to act normal.
“Jesicca and Tom. They are more than friends to me. These two guys are your birthday gifts.”-Sam laughed.
Bella stood in amusement.

“See you tomorrow “- Jesicca and Tom waved back.
‘Now I know Sam. I know why you gifted me Jes and Tom. Cuz you always knew that I would need them in my life, in your absence.’-Bella whispered to herself while watching Jesicca and Tom leaving her home.
