AN UNEXPECTED SURPRISE!

It’s been only a month since Rex and Kate started dating through an online dating app. They haven’t met and communicated each other in person, other than video calls, voice mails and calls and texts.

“Hey baby, what’s up ?”- Rex picked up the phone.
“Um.. Can I have a moment ?”- Kate sounded serious.
“Yeah, sure babe. Actually I was about to call you. Time for another surprise and I have got a big news too. “- Rex was overjoyed .
“Um..Rex, actually my parents have arranged a date for me this evening.”- Kate acted normal.
“Excuse me ?”- Rex was shocked.
“Rex, Things are not gonna work out between us. It’s better for us to go on our own ways.”-Kate continued.
“What happened Kate ? What’s with this sudden change ?”- His voice began to shake.
“Come on Rex ! Don’t act like we have been in a relation for millions of years.”- Kate giggled.
“But, how could you end everything just like that ? And who is this new guy ? Where is he from? Have you met him before? “- Rex couldn’t help himself.
“Calm down Rex. I don’t even know his name. I’m gonna meet him for the first time. My parents didn’t even show me his photo. They asked me to get to know each other everything by ourselves.
Okay Rex. That’s it. It was nice ‘knowing you less and not meeting you in person’ . Gotta Go. I have to pick up an outfit for my real date.”-Kate giggled and hang up the call without giving Rex a chance to speak.

Kate dressed up in her beautiful gown. Betty( Kate’s sister) was doing her hair.
“Wow ! You look gorgeous !”- Betty gave a thumbs up to her final look.
“As always, Huh ?” – Kate acted like a queen.
“Have a good ‘date’!”- Betty showed no response and walked out of the room with a weird smile.

It was a lovely evening . Her parents picked her the same spot, they used to date when they were young. But now , the owner did some renovations and it look like anew perfect dating spot.

Kate parked the car. She entered the restaurant and asked for the reserved seats. Kate was there for the first time , even though, it was her parent’s old dating spot.

One of the waiters showed her the way to the rooftop area, which was a special spot, that are only allowed to the pre-booked guests.

He was already there.
“Excuse me.”- Kate called him who was facing to the other side. He looked at her.
“Rex…? “-
“Kate…?-
Both screamed as they saw each other.

Both remained silent. He acted normal , while Kate sat staring at him.
“Stop staring at me. Shoot if you have something to ask.”- He tried to act normal.
“So, Rex…”- Kate was furious.
“John Johnson. That’s my name.”- He replied.
“Oh! So your name was also as fake as you. What about your job?”
“I’m a fashion designer.”-
“Is this your new trick ?”-
“Nope. What I told your are the truths.”-
“Told when? The ones you were told before or…- Kate raised her voice.

“Kate?” – Rex interrupted them. He stood in shock.
“Holy moly !”- Kate raised from her chair.
“I am his twin brother.”- John smiled at her.
“Mom and Dad suddenly caught up with something, so they asked me to join you.”- Rex blabbered in shock.
“Well, I think you two should have a proper conversation.”- John grabbed the car key from Rex and walked away.

“Why didn’t you ?”- Her voice began to shake and couldn’t finish her words. She looked down in shame.
“Hi. I’m Rex Johnson. I am John’s twin brother.
Actually, John wanted me to find my partner first. So I started dating someone through an online app. Her name is Kate. I loved her. It’s been only a month since we started dating. I didn’t had a proper job, because I was preparing for my campus interview. So I decided to tell her more about me and my family , once I get a better job.
And today I was gonna surprise her showing my twin brother. I have told about her to him on the very first day, we started dating. And I was also planning to tell her that I have got a better placement in a company at Korea.”- Rex seemed dull. Kate sat listening to him in shock.

“But fortunately, I saw her true colours today.
It was nice ‘knowing you more and meeting you in person’ Kate. I have to join my new company as soon as possible. Got a flight to catch !”- Instantly, his dull face began to shine with a gorgeous smile.

Rex raised from his chair and walked away, while Kate cried aloud in guilt and shame.
